And the sneaky b*stards made it High Priority to catch all the people who had Auto Updates turned on. It's easy to get round, just update manually and don't install the update shown below. the auto-update feature can also be said that it wont bug you about the install anymore - just de-select it, and when it asks say that you aint interested in that one at all :)
this just happened me today.. while playing need for speed most wanted - and the game did NOT like autoupdate saying things :P -------------------- This person is best talked to with the help of a computer..

I found this workaround if you have the WGA Nagware installed...which I'm sure Micro$haft is working to disable (I have not tried it):
Digg.com Info Submitted by Manno on 26-Apr-06 "Microsoft releases a update today, so yeh: Run task manager and kill WgaTray.exe. Then, go to System32 folder and find WgaTray.exe and wgalogon.dll. Rename both files to something like WgaTray1.exe and wgalogon1.dll and do a restart. No more annoying messages from Microsoft if your XP isn't registered. Tested, and works as of right now." captbics -------------------- O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
