I cant get sound to work in my RedHat.... I use a Sound Blaster 16....

My mobo has onboard sound that has given me problems often so i havnt used it for ages - this MAY be causing some conflict.

Also perhaps the soundcard detection may be flawed as I am using the Publishers Edition of RedHat 9

Is it the onboard sound that you're trying to use? or not...did you check the BIOS settings to enable or disable the onboard soundchip?

I am trying to use my PCI soundcard - my onboard sound is already disabled.
