Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone out here is playing the demo for this fine piece of software. I've been playing on and off for the past few days (I'm still pretty addcited to GTA San Andreas lol). It's actually a pretty cool experience. It appears on the outside as just a Battlefield 1942 (never played Vietnam) with new looks and gizmos... yet it is still amazing amounts of fun. Even on public servers, actual teamwork is used quite often. The squad system is pretty cool and if you're teamates are competent in any way... you can do some major damage to the baddies. The new commander slot is also pretty cool. I haven't tried it personally but I can assure you that artillery strikes and UAV recon under a good commander can save the day easily. As for vehicles, I, personally, am the crappiest pilot in the world because I've simply never tried using air vehicles... but good chopper pilots with good gunners can completely obliterate any armor on the field. I've heard that the modern jets are simply too fast to be that useful and only have enough payload for a couple bombings... so that may be a turnoff for you flying aces. I much prefer using armor on the ground to make quick work of enemy infantry... before getting my ass blown off by said air support, lol.

The graphics are pretty awesome and my system can't run this at full power (Radeon 9700 Athlon 2500+ 512MB RAM) but it still looks awesome compared to the old Battlefields. It is sometimes hard to find a good server that does not induce netlag with large amounts of people (32+). However, playing with so many people on the field at once really makes for exciting combat. Also, one downside that I've noticed overall with the game is hit detection... snipers seem pretty useless this time around and just aiming in general is not an easy thing to do. Maybe it's just me.

Anyways, if anyone is playing, just let me know and we can go find a server. I'm actually not sure how much longer the demo is going to last (game comes out on... Tuesday?), so you better hurry and download if you haven't.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be buying this one.

Lol I actually don't have any specific server. I just jump around to wherever the pings are low and player count high. I'll look around for a decent one and get the info back to you (unless you have a specific server already).

wish I would have net connection and could play with ya.. well, we will see later once I order ADSL after returning from my holiday trip (starts at 6am on the following day from me getting off from army!) to Holland to meet my gf ;)
ah.. sweet, only 20 days of military time left.. its been lots of training, training and training. many good memories, yet also some things I didnt like that much.. tho they are what tend to come to be the good memories after a while lol (meetin with old guys & talkin how it sucked doing it).

its pretty good. i've been enjoying the full game for a while now. i like the medic and the spec-op. i just can't pick which one to unlock.

Too bad it doesn't load on a Geforce TI4600 :'(

There is a shadermod out, but still at about 30% so looks crapy still.
