Hehe, thank you. I used Cinema 4D XL 8.5 to make it. It's a plane with a displacement map and then the text was done with extruded and capped splines. Caustics were used for a rather suble translucency effect on the top letters. Most of the materials are multilayered. A slight bit of glow was added in the post effects in Cinema.No adjustments necessary in Photoshop. If you have Cinema 4D 8 or higher, I will be glad to post a more thorough explanation.

looks pretty slick mate, nice work :)

for me, i prefer more minimal desktop images, but i can see the appeal of this one too :)
