Lest see if I can explain this so that it is easy to understand.

About 6 months ago, I moved from Lafayette LA to Baton Rouge LA. Kinda funny that I moved here right after Huricane Katrina, and right before Huricane Rita. I had multiple reasone for movine to Baton rouge, one was to find more work in animation and video editing, which is what I went to school for. The other is that Baton Rouge was just suposed to be one of many moves I would be making around the country.

Like I've said, Ive been here for about 6 months. I curently find myself in a rather strange perdicement. I curently have two job leads. One of which is here in BR, and I would be doing animation work, which is what I want to do. Down side is that I havn't heard back from them yet, But this being Easter, I honestly don't expect to here from them before Monday. The other Job offer is for a video editor, something else I want to do, but not exactly what I went to school for. Not to mention, it is back in Lafayette (wasn't really planning on going back ther, wanted to move forward, not backward). If gas prices were not what they are, I wouldn't have a problem driving to and from Lafayette everyday. The upside, is that the job pays up to $35 an hour.

Add to all this, the fact that there is this really cute girl here in Baton Rouge that I really like, and really want to be with.

Any thoughts or suggestions? questions?

I would say stay where you are.

As you said, not much point in moving 'backwards', and with a girl interest, all the more reason to stay. Personally, I always go with what would make me happiest - not always richest.
This year, I transferred courses at Uni to start doing Engineering, huge pay packet once I'm done, but now I've found it's not what I have a real passion for and so I'm going to be starting an apprenticeship in carpentry, where the money isn't as good, but I love the work.

Basically, just follow your passions and go with what feels right.

yeah, enigma said the same I was going to say.. following the passion and what you love is what you should do (or in other words - to listen what your heart tells you). I cant count how many times I was said that the internet relationships cannot work, and that I shouldnt go abroad to meet girls for the first time.. but I listened to my heart, it was what I felt was right thing to do.. and now ? I'm engaged and going to be married later on. We are already discussing things about our wedding, even if it aint going to happen very soon :D
That being said.. I would rather be poor and satisfied & happy with my life & love, than to be rich and always worried about the money.. and the interests of others ;) So, best advice I can give, is to listen to your heart. Things have a strange way of resolving themselves if you just trust that it will...
I have been having some doubts about my choices on the university of technology where i'm student at, and how come, friend suggested an exam to me, passed it with flying colours and was interesting stuff. so going to read more about that topic. One shouldnt take too much stress :P Once again, trust your heart. It _DOES_ know things you dont know knowing yourself :)

I messed around for a couple of years post high school, in both a course and jobs I didn't like. It was good for a reality check though - i'm now earning much more casually whilst at uni full time, than I ever did full time in other jobs - with very good future prospects. Not bad for a career path I initially avoided for fear of supposed lack of stability, etc etc. If the passion is there, the good stuff follows.

If for nothing else, the lack of travelling. I'm very much looking forward to picking up my own place, closer to clients.
