Company Name: if its a registered business name, its already copyrighted

Photographs, Design, Logos, Graphics:

put a disclaimer and the copyright symbol, with year and you name (real, not fake for this), and you should be covered the world over i think :)

If you want to cp your company name you should go here (http://www.uspto.gov/). you will have to do a search & see if the name is already taken.

Edit: Watch the life links...

ahh, thanks alot kilroy

Also i was wondering, if my company name is "ma1nstream industries"

and another company "mainstream industries" exists, could they possibly sue me?

also about the domain name, there is a mainstream.com but its not "mainstream industries" is "Mainstream Electronic Information Services, Inc."

if i were to get ma1nstream.com, could they do anything?

 Well, here in Australia, the government wont allow you to register a business name if it is TOO close to another business in your state - for the sake of people getting the two businesses mixed up. And in your case, it's kinda hard to not mix up the two names -

mainstream industries
ma1nstream industries

..they're practically identical..

yea, i was just wondering, actually mainstream industries doesnt exist...

but reading up on that link from kilroy, it seems as if i have to pay 355$ to copyright that name.... :-\

[edit]
which isnt really worth it, since im not starting a buissness to sell stuff or anything
i just dont want to get sued :)

mabey i will just register the domain and not worry about anything :\

I think that if you are in a different line of business you can even have the same name if it is not an already registered name.

Checkers fast food place and Taxi service as an example.

Delta - can be Delta Air Lines or can be Delta Faucet company or Delta Electronics

HTH

I think there is a difference between a web business & a regular one. Its hard to believe its 355 for a web one. You might wana call the 800 number & ask.
