Hey all,

I am at it again with the site creation, but this time with more of a purpose. I will be doing or helping a friend and photography student at a college back home.

The site needs to be as professional as possible while portraying her character and style. I am sure all you digital artists can understand more than I can put into words.

SJ quote:
QUOTE
it will be on me, photography, so people can see my work and take me on as an assistant ect..

This will be a challenge for me because I am not her, and I do not know exactly what she wants. Downside is that I am sure she will almost like whatever I create, so I will need to find a way for her to be a critic.

Here are somethings she was saying about the site:
QUOTE
oooo i dont know. ummm green is good and orange is bright. but you know i dont want it to look kid like. lol i have no clue really, once i get the photos, maybe that help. black for sure b/c it be best with black and white photos

I will try to make some quick things thoroughout the week, but I am swamped with work. This is not need to start really until the summer, but i would like to have ideas before then.

Any sites or designs laying around that may be of help to me would be create. Something that can show me some different ideas or perspectives to use. Especially if any of you have old designs that maybe didnt work for you, but the technique you liked postem, I would love any and all input :)

Thanks guys.

*btw she has won awards on black and white photos and such

both are on the right track mate, although a few pointers:

. if you can help it, use the LEAST amount of bright colors when displaying photography.

. fat keylines (above 0.5pt) are very unprofessional, avoid them if you can.

. try and keep things and clean and simple as possible. the attempt for wraparound on the orange just creates more awkward space.

you want to try and keep it very basic and easy to navigate. if you plan to use color, use tones rather than full colors. black is usually best to display art/photography on, but if you have to use white, make sure you break it up with grey toning, or your audience will have trouble tracking.

one last thought. try to add a bit more depth to the page, if anything to give it more of a link to the physical, as well as the digital. right now its very flat and dull, with nothing to entice me to move further.

just some tips mate :)

let me know if ya need a hand with anything :)
