Well I run the M$ proggie and Adaware SE + Spybot S&D. I guess I'll look into Webroot Spy Sweeper as well. But I'm fairly confident that adding Firefox to the mix keeps drive-by downloads as they called them to a minimum.

What's wrong with using the all-in-one proggie Hitman pro?

I couldn't tell you - I was responding to the article itself for the most part. I've never heard of Hitman Pro quite honestly. Is it better than those used in the article?? I don't know - each of the programs that were used in that article say they are the BEST or ULTIMATE defense against adware/spyware/malware. The article proves them wrong.

Well Hitman pro is a mixture of Adaware SE, Webroot spysweeper, Spybot search and destroy, Spyblaster and CWShredder. If you start it, it runs one program after the other (including updating them). You don't have to do a thing and it's free. If I were you guys I would try it once. No I don't get any commission from it biggrin.gif

Did you read the article? Even with those all running, I'd bet it's no better than M$ Anti-Spyware + Webroot Spy Sweeper. It might even be less effective since the tests proved the M$ program is far better than most at detecting spyware.

But it's time is numbered when people start specifically targetting the program

As I understand this tool is not a standalone spyware-remover but rather is a "shell" for launching a series of options using well known anti-spyware tools. Never the less it sounds interesting! Unfortunatly for most of us the official Hitman Pro site is in Dutch. Does anyone have the english translation for the website page and the dialog boxes of the program itself (those that are in Dutch )?

from what I've heard (and seen) the MS spyware program is really really good. The place I'm working is pimping it pretty hard, most pc's we fix end up with it as it's good at catching everything

The site is in Dutch but the program is in English.

Here's a bit of info in English on Hitman Pro
.http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=57670

Hitman pro downloads free versions of the programs which i mentioned. If it doesn't detect Webroot Spysweeper on your puter it downloads a 30 day trial version of the proggie. I use MS antispyware in combination with Hitman Pro.
The problem with the MS app is that it recognises Flashget and the "false"spyware of Kazaa lite as genuine spyware.
