Yes, believe it or not, it's true.
Zone Alarm v.5 turns off Norton's E-mail scanning feature and it's own built in scanner fails to work if installed on a system with Norton AV. Some posts about it here on the Zone Labs forum. http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/m...essage.id=12258 http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/m...essage.id=11594 Considering they are pushing this product as the safest software firewall in the business and the fact that most people buy these products on name only and think they are safe, I'm disgusted at their attitude and glad I read up and research products before I install anything new on my box. I'm sure you guys will agree. This guy sums it up nicely in this post. http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/m...message.id=2392 Bear :( btw. Guys, let's not turn this into a Software/Hardware Firewall argument. *** Update*** Got some info on their FAQ page. http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/supp...neralFAQs.jsp#1 This post has been edited by Bearsland: Jun 10 2004, 11:29 PM |

Been using ZoneAlarm Pro with Web Filtering version 4.5.459.000 for some time now - Think I'll stick with it.........
Myadvice :If you haven't already, don't install this new version yet. It's simply not ready! This post has been edited by Wiener3: Jun 11 2004, 01:53 AM -------------------- "I wish I were an Oscar Myer wiener" |
