The student academy awards were today. I went thinking it was going to leave a distaste in my mouth for the what the movie industry (at least from the academy's point of view) has to offer in the future. I was happily surprised. The movies that were up for nominations and that won showed talent and skill (and this is from grad students who are just getting into the industry). There was also a level of intelligence in the films. I am happy to see that we might be moving on to seeing more intelligent films coming from americans (seeing as how I am american, I want to see better films being produced from within).

I don't know how this can receive replies, but I wanted to make that statement at least, because I am fairly stoked!
