Hi
I remember those days when I used photoshop 7 I was able to see the thumbnail of my work in explorer and now after I upgraded to photoshop cs I get this silly feather instead. (IMG:http://www.abu2.com/sprout/pics/psd.jpg) I know i can use file browser inside photoshop but it still would be nice to see thumnail in the explorer window. any ideas how to fix that or any other helpfull thoughts. thanx -------------------- |

When you look at the properties of the file (via right-click) you should see a "photoshop image" tab. On that tab is a "Generate Thumbnails" checkbox .... Does that help at all?

OK, if the tab isn't even present anymore, then the registry is the answer. Looking at my own registry (I have PS7) I found the keys for shellex shown in the image below. One suggests that it is resposible for adding the "Photoshop Image" tab onto the property page. The other for Icon handling (thumbnails?)
(IMG:http://home.iprimus.com.au/kxl/psd.jpg) So my next suggestion is to look at these registry entries on your PC for PS7 - I'd say these remanants are still leftover from your uninstall. Copy these key values into their appropriate spots in the registry for your new PS version and the should perform the same function. BACKUP YOU REGISTRY FIRST! :o |
