Hey, redesigned my biz website in an attempt to make it a LOT more professional and 'warm'. I think I've succeeded, comparing it to my last version.
Can I please get your opinions on this, as it will basically be my main source of business exposure - therefore, I want it to actually be able to 'sell'! :D Especially BM, you seem to be very visually coherent when it comes to design and can give really good advice / comments! PLEASE!! :D Alpha Technics -------------------- |

Looks quite nice. A bit busy perhaps, but that might be me :D
The image preloader doesn't continue when it has reached 100%, you might wanna look at that... -------------------- -----------------------Live The Day At Hand----------------------- |

I'm no design guru, so this is just a personal opinion. I think it looks really nice mate. I like the colours and I don't think it looks too busy. What I will emphasise though is, if you want to be professional, you must not have spelling errors on there. On the front page you have currency spelled with an 'a', ie. currancy. On every list page you have manufacturer spelled with an 'o', ie. manufacturor. There may be others I never spotted. Nothing puts people off more than seeing a really well designed site full of bad spelling. It gives the impression that more time was spent on design and not enough on content. Fix that up and I think you're looking good mate. :) ~Bear :) |

I do agree with DK, it is quiet busy, but then again there isnt much you could do to make it less busy..unless(pricewatch.com)...
The pre-loader for me did reach 100, and it infact, went off of its backround and almost off of my screen...so id say ya need to fix that ;) Also, I see that you have a border around your page, but if you look closely, towards the middle the color changes, you might want to make it one solid color other than that I dont know what to tell ya, it looks pretty good, and I hope you do well with your new buisness :) -------------------- |

Looks good.
One thing I would focus on is the pixelizing of some of the images. I can see clear pixel lines along some of the images and I would take some time out to smooth the edges out a little. Other than..I like it |

..FIXED! I agree, spelling mistakes annoy the hell out of me! I can't believe I missed those..
Yeah, I meant to do it like that. It all blends way too much if it was one solid colour.
Thanks for all that guys. The Pre-Loader is removed - it mainly works in IE, and stuffs up ALL the time with Opera and Netscape.. not something i really want happening!! :) :) Thanks again for your advice, MUCH appreciated!!!! :D :D This post has been edited by enigma: Apr 10 2004, 08:27 AM -------------------- |
