I don't like it too much. It seems to have no focus or shape for such a large amount of color in the image. I think the blue is a bit too dense over there on the left there by the middle. I'd suggest cutting back on the blue streak-things overall, make the background a darker color, and possibly even use a darker hue of blue (I prefer darkness in images). I think it's a nice piece of work for a quickie-image, but there's a bit more to be done for it to really come together. Would make a nice background (if really darkened up) for something else (to add focus to the pic overall).

Of course, all these suggestions are all pretty broad and vague. I see this pic as having a lot of potential and you could really do a lot of things with it to bring it forward (or leave it the hell alone if you like it... but not before slapping me for being a fool, lol).

Smack .... Gotta love your candor Twine ... at least Atomic isn't at a loss for negetive criticism. Hell I am gonna print it out 10X13 and frame it ...

I though it was cool as shit ... simple yet un-organized, a chaotic "flow" from left to right ... like something was moving through the blue and dragging it along ...

Just my two cent

Peace

I wasn't trying to put down his work or anything. I was just stating my opinion on what could be done with it. If he likes it, then to hell with my opinion, an artist's love for his art is the only thing that matters. I'm sorry if I came across too harshly... I say what I think.

I like it Atomic. As Twine said, it'd make a great component of a larger work, or a background if darkened. Nice Twine's prepared to say what he thinks, but provide helpful suggestions. Respect.

These days it's all too easy to just be Politically Correct and not criticise something you see for fear of upsetting someone. You deserve respect for being honest and saying what you think TWINE, good for you. :)

Respect is due to Atomic too. :) :)

One of the great things about Atomic (and something I personally admire about the guy) is that he puts up his work and asks for honest opinions and takes notice when he gets them and of any criticisms. (Other threads of his are a testament to that). I know he would prefer people to give honest (constructive) criticism (and negative opinions if it's how people feel).

I'm no Graphics guru or artist type myself, but I do like to see all the work posted here on nFm, be it good or bad. Keep posting guys! :D

thats correct man i liek people to say what they think and it doesn't matter how hard it hits me. Like when BM replys he puts in things that i would have jsut overloocked so its always good to get people to tell you teh truth and sometimes it jstu helps you to get that little bit fixed up

Which is why you deserve the credit and respect that you are given for posting your work. :D

We had a member (no names) here in the past who would post their work and got very upset if it got criticised. I tend to think that defeats the purpose of posting it at all. Criticism can make a good artist great, (if they listen). You do, you listen to people like BM and I personally think your work is all the better for it.

Keep posting Atomic. :)

btw. I never mentioned it, but I like the piece above. As Atomic says, it's got a nice 'feel'. It has a glacial, icebergy (?) kind of texture.

Bearsland, you are my kind of guy. You say what you think in a respectful manner with no mal-intent. Good for you. We need more people like that.
