I thought this was more closely related in this forum then any other on the board, If I was wrong, please move this thread.

Im setting up a bit of a server; It will be used for a Firewall and possibly a webserver for a private site. But I'm also using it as a server for a local LAN.


Now Im not sure which OS to chuck on it.


The select few I have chosen and know about are Win 2k Server, Win 2003 or Debian 3.0 R2(Linux).
This will be used to run a dod, and probably another game, but as I said im not sure what OS to put on.

This is getting to me, Im quite capable in either Debian or Windows, but It would also be required to run a remote desktop connection, and im not sure if that is possible, easily on Debian.


I have been reading around, and someone on the Day of defeat forums gets lower CPU usage then anyone on the forums, using Win 2003 server, this including those running Linux.

It this just luck, or would it be 2003 making it run at a lower CPU level?
