There is a video game that almost no one I know has played. Ive met only six people (on and offline) and only one who likes the game enough to have a screenname from it*.

I bought my PS1 simply to play this game as it is one of the best I have ever played.

The game I speak of is Legend of Legaia for the PSX.

Heres a sectional review:

Story: The story resembles FF9 and FFCC in which an evil mist threatens. The fact is that this game came before these and does it much better. The story revolves around three people, the main character being Vahn (Note all three playable characters names can change), a hunter who vows to stop the mist which corrupts Seru, a type of magical artifact that can allow powerful abilities when worn by a human. The mist causes the seru - and via extention the person wearing it - to morph into its 'true' state, a monster. The story has many developments and twists, mainly involving the female playable character, Noa. 9/10

Graphics: The graphics in battle are beautiful. Better than the PSX Final Fantasy games by far, fluid, and well animated. The graphics on the map... well, they are less impressive. FAR less impressive. Fairly boxy, but the textures are good. 7/10

Battle System: Inventive and innovative, the systems only shortfall is that some people dont like remembering the Hyper Art combos(which you dont have to do, as they are just a powerful bonus) and some people dislike turn based combat. 8.5/10

Character Development: Incredibly well done. The characters are not predictable (except for Noas random comments) in there statements, they demonstrate emotion (they arnt drones who are indifferent to everything around them) and arnt as stupid as a tree. 9.5/10

I need to think of more catagories...
Anyway, this game didnt shine as it was released during the hype of Final Fantasy Seven. It has a sequel for PS2 that I have not yet played. This game i would definatly reccomend to ANY RPG fan, including all Final Fantasy fans. Shortfalls of the game are the very few FMV sequences (which are well done) and the shortness of the game (it took me about 20 hours)
