I just thought I would as everyone to purchase 1 or more poppies this time of the year from the various outlets around, especially if they are from veterans. When they thank you, remember to say thank you back.



It was there blood, sweat, courage and determination that made much of our lifestyle and our way of life possible. Yes, most of all keeping us FREE.


I see to many people regardless of age, sex, race walk right past the those selling the poppies, like the veterans were ghosts, or non existent. Many news stations have been commenting on this for a while. Each person they interviewed had said they either bought a poppy and couldnt say why they werent wearing it or they did not buy a poppy and couldnt explain why.

To the veterans it is not buying a plastic and felt flower with a pin, they arent keeping the money for themselves at the end of the night. It is a symbol of respect for those that died in the process of saving our freedom and preserving our way of life. The money does go to various charites and a small amout goes to a fund to help veterans in need.

My grandfather fought in World War II for the English. But now he is gone. during his 80th year, and I cant talk to him about it, but I can by a poppy and remember his sacrificie and those of the other soldiers of both allied and axis.


I guess all im reallly saying is buy a poppy, and wear it. Repect the dead long ago, less we forget.

You can call this a rant or what eve ou like, I am just asking that we do show our respect and thanks to veterans living and living ever after.

So I wear my poppy, proud, and wear nowing I am lucky.

Remembrance Day is a Canadian counterpart to Veterans Day in the US.

I always celebrate Remembrance Day for the second world war... I never feel I can fully honour the first one however, as that was essentially our governmetns fighting for popularity, and freedom was not at stake. I honour the fighters in the first world war who died at Royalty's expense, and I honour all those who died defending freedom
