This has been bugging me. I use multiple programs to clean the registry, Norton System Works, System Mechanic, Advanced Registry Doctor, Registry Clean Expert, Registry First Aid, and MS RegClean. Whenever I decide its time to clean out my registry I use all these programs and they all find something to fix or delete from the registry.
So far I have done as the apps indicate and have no problems but why is it multiple apps find different things to fix. Shouldn't one or two apps be sufficient. It seems to me that, based on this experience, multiple apps are needed to completely perform a maintenance function . Anyone else had this experience and can explain it. |

Seems these days multiple apps are required to perform a certain functions - another example is getting rid of/preventing adware/spyware - I use Ad-Aware + Spy-Bot Seek & Destroy+Spy Sweeper to get rid of everything. However I cannot explain why.........

I know what you mean. It seems that I am using more and more apps to clean up my system. AntiVirus programs seem to be the same way.
