Hey guys, do any of you know if and when we'll see socket 939 mobos with PCI Express support? I heard nVidia nForce4 chipset would support it, but I've not been able to find too much on the released date etc.
Ideas? Gossip? Banal Ramblings?
Full Version: AMD & PCI eXpress?
I havnt seen anyting on it. Ive checked all sites. Looks like ATI is leading the way with pci-x so it seems that Intel will lead in this area & since Intel is leadin, the mobo manufactures will create boards for them first. I know Soyo is making 2 new boards in partnership with ATI but I doubt it will be for the AMD.
currently amd have no plans to release pci-x mobo's
I was kinda afraid of that. Still it doesn't look like we'll be needing that type of bandwidth for video for at least another year or so. When the ATI FireGL v7100's start to hit the domestic market then I spose we'll need that kinda bandwith.
Anyways, if any of you guys do hear any rumours about it keep me posted!

Yay... soon I'll be able to spend my life savings on just a videocard!

Its not that expensive but its still a chunck of change to spend on a card. After the holidays this year the video cards will become more reasonable.
