SO i was perusing my badwitdh usage on the self care of my provider.

and I will went over in the first month, which I prepaid when it was hooked up.

I have a 15gig combined transfer per month... i kinda blew that up.

27.519 GB UPLOAD and 49.776GB DOWNLOAD

and it is .80c for each 100mb over the transfer limit.

So lets do a little math Upload + Download = 77.295

.80c per 100mb is 8$ a gig.

so!

we deduct the limit of 15.360 from the total and get = 61.935

now multiply that by 8$ and EWWWW!!!!

495.48 in OVERAGE fees!

Hopefully I can plead ignorance to the limit, my friend said that they will deduct it off as a warning or something.

BUt the strange thing is that at home, we have had the same provider for like.... 5 yrs. and I never see any bandwidth limits on that account, but mine with the same provider is.

My guess is that we were already customers before the limits were in place thus excusing us from it.

So I may have to fall back to resnet at the school, almost better than dial up. LIke, only port 80 is open but speed is mediocre. Dial would be sloooower but at least i have full port control.

Just thought I would let everyone know so if i disappear that is why. Then if anywants to talk I guess... email would be it.. well unless MSN wants to connect. lol! yeah right. MSN addy: errantknight @ postmaster . co . uk (no spaces)

Hey, Boss, I know just how ya feel.

I finally got broadband (cable) in my rural location a while ago, but with a 5GB data transfer limit. while I have yet to get charged, the automatically-generated warning Emails come almost every month. mad.gif

I guess we just have to curb our enthusiasm. rolleyes.gif

Best to ya,
