I am wondering if I should get an axim x50v or a laptop..I can do the same things on an x50 on a laptop like watch movies etc too and it's cheaper but..as my previous post, I am going to college..so price is utmost.

I have an axim x50v down to 396.71 from 499$ and I was wondering what would be a good laptop that is CHEAP that will do some basic stuff like wifi or ethernet so I can take it to school etc?

My price limit is 500-550 though. 1610$ a semester for housing is hurting me if I go to this college. Which is a nice college but it hurts me to get a nice nice nice laptop. So I need a laptop that can do some multimedia and some basic tasks as well.

Would it be better to get a pda vs a laptop? People are 50/50 on this when I ask them. 1/2 tell me to get the pda and 1/2 tell me get the laptop.

Thanks!

After Xmas there will be some good deals on laptops .. A PDA is great, I have an Axim X3. But there are just somethings that I have to do on a laptop ... Word processing, Excel etc etc .. a computer is almost required in college these days ... i used mine almost everyday .. there are "community" comuters (in the IT Lab, etc) but they may be limited or occupied ...

Dell has one now for 549$ (bought one for the G/F) that is more than enough (especially compared to a PDA)

Peace

This pda provides excel etc and syncing to the computer..

So far everything I have found this pda can out do a laptop.
