I just got my first digi. A Nikon Coolpix 4800 8.3X optical zoom 4.1 megapixel.

Here is a idea of the optical zoom.

Unzoomed. ( yes past the normal eye view)
Notice the Tree Close to the TOP that is the tallest.

Looks like quality hardware, those photos have extreme clarity.

Nice winter colors...sometimes digi cams colors are f'ed up and look very blue when lots of snow is present.
