I finally sold my old heap of shit for $110 at the scrap metal place down the road after buying my new car. biggrin.gif

I'm currently in the middle of molding my 7" LCD into the dash, it's half way there, just need to do some more sanding/filling/sanding etc etc.. I'll be putting my PS2 in there shortly also.

You doing the glassing yourself?
enigma
I don't even know what glassing is...?? sad.gif

I'll just be sanding it down until it's the perfect shape, then prime it and paint it... Do I need to 'glass' it?

Your sanding it in the car ? (sheesh...)....

Get yourself a dremel, take the panel OUT of the car then work on it. A dremil will cut it so precise that you wont need to sand it. At most you would need 2000 grit sandpaper, about a square inch of it just to take the sharp edge off the final cut. Wet the sandpaper (soak it in a bucket for a minute) before you use it on plastic, it will fog any scratches opposed to sanding it flat.

I don't know what you had before, was it a VN or something or was that like your brothers ages ago ?

Nice car either way.

I can't afford to buy a dremel, so I'll just sand it - I can afford sand paper!
I put the dash fascia back in there with the LCD TV fibreglassed in for a test fit. I don't work on it in the car! (sheesh...)
I'm going to work on it on the weekend - should get most of it done. I'll post a pic when it's done. Just need to figure out a new place to put the Head Unit. I was going to mount it under the LCD where the ash tray is, but there isn't enough gap at the back for the HU to fit there without sticking out by 1-2 inches.
I might have to put it in the glove box or the centre-console..

Yeah, my brother had a red VN - about 5 years ago..
I used to have a 1983 Nissan Bluebird, luckily enough not many people actually saw it - it put the saying 'piece of shit' to shame..

Nice handy work.
Good luck finding a spot for the head unit. smile.gif
enigma
sanded it down and primed it.
Hooked it up to the PS2 for a test.
The finish isn't all smooth and perfect, but I'm fine with how it looks atm.

Unfortunately I have to have those two holes on either side of the screen so I can screw the dash back in place. I'll get some plugs to cover them later..

ok silly question but why would you want to put a ps2 in your car?a dvd player i can understand but a game unit?
enigma
biggrin.gif Entertainment for the passengers! Keeps annoying people occupied..
Well, it's mainly for the DVD player function anyway, saves me buying a new Head Unit. blink.gif
