Joining 2 vids if you don't want to edit anything within -
HJsplit
http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/or VirtualDub
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vi...ub_join_avi.cfmFor converting and burning AVI/XVids to DVD formats, I personally use Canopus Procoder 2.0 if WinAVI doesn't work. It's nowhere near as fast to finish, but the overall result is better IMHO.

yep doom9 is a great resource (after this forum
)for most DivX and Xvid questions...hJsplit is an excellent piece of software but check back the join before commiting the original files to the waste basket as it occasionally messes up the join...also be wary of using HJjoin and HJsplit to transport or archive video files as i've heard of files (even those with recovery records and hashes) refusing to rejoin after the event...

mmmb sounds like the software (which i've never heard of) has recompressed the audio (possibly to ac3?!) but incorrectly set the normalisation to -27Db, which is the lowest setting...not much you can do about it 24 hours later sorry Wiz

you can do the converting to mpeg-2 by virtualdub if you have enough old version that supports the format.. unfortunately, I have lost my storage (478Gb of data) so I cannot help with it.

google for rejig; I've used it to transcode before; I forget the details (its been a while) but I remember the name because I tried a number of different methods and it worked well for me.
