This poll has been going on for a pretty long time now and it's really starting to narrow down. Some of the games near the bottom such as Super Smash Brothers don't deserve a spot this high on the ladder and are probably only there because of the Nintendo fanboi legions. I think Chrono Trigger is guaranteed a spot in the finals considering its competition in the upper half (Mario 3 and Link to the Past against one of the greatest RPGs ever? Comon now). The bottom half is where the competition is fierce though. Goldeneye vs. Ocarina vs. FFVII vs. Starcraft. All very good contenders for best game ever. I think the final battle for bottom finalist is going to be FFVII vs. Ocarina (Ocarina is going to defeat Goldeneye like it always has in the past and Starcraft won't stand a chance). In the end, I think it's going to go to Ocarina (though I disagree). It has won these competitions many times before. I gotta say though... a final FF7 vs. Chrono Trigger battle to end all battles would be a great thing.

sure thing have just seen metal gear solid, I admit it has some merits too.. but FF7 rocks

Well it's apparent now that the final match of the poll is going to indeed be the Final Fantasy 7 vs. Chrono Trigger battle that I'd hoped from from near the beginning of the whole thing. The final match starts tomorrow. Vote FF7!

ff7 all the way. some of the games surprised me though. like starcraft losing to super smash brothers. theres some others but this is all i remember.

I really can't decide whether FF7 was better than FF3 or not... but they both rock either way (I can't believe FF3 didn't make it further up the ladder though). I personally can't believe Tetris made it all the way to the round-before-quarterfinals (lol). And yeah, the fact that SSMB beat Starcraft was quite ridiculous. Of course, personally, I think Goldeneye should have beat Ocarina of Time, but that's just my opinion. This is probably the longest and most in-depth poll on the matter I have yet witnessed.
