does bluetooth headsets made for cell phones work for laptops or desktops that have blue tooth capabilities?

Shanno,

Given certain limitations, a Bluetooth (Bt) headset will work with any Bt-enabled cell phone, laptop, or desktop system.

The limitation is simply that the device you want to use it with must support the Bt "headset profile" and/or "audio profile".

Almost all new cell phones support this, and many of the newer laptops. Desktops are a slightly different story as the majority of them are not Bt-enabled, or may support only Bt keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.

When pricing Bt headsets, make sure to look at the "talk time /standby time", as well as how fast and convenient it is to recharge.

Best o' luck,
-ManX
